I have personally dealt with digestive issues in the past. No one could pinpoint what was wrong.
I tried everything: doctors, supplements, different diets — nothing worked. Every time I thought I was getting better, my symptoms would flare up again.
I began to feel like I couldn’t enjoy food anymore.
So I turned to what I had learned from Cornell's Nutrition and Healthy Living Program about the "Food as Medicine" philosophy.
When I started researching, I was shocked to learn that over 70 million Americans, and women in particular, struggled with GI-related issues.
I also learned about the importance of seasonal wellness and how our bodies require certain nutrients during different times of the year.
That’s why I started 18 Chestnuts.
Soup has always been my favorite food, a comforting connection to my childhood, where my grandmother’s homemade soups were the highlight of my day.
But I knew I needed to create soups that weren’t just delicious. They also had to be easy on the digestive system, filled with nutrients that help heal and restore the gut, and finally, to help improve one's health and wellness from season-to-season.
At 18 Chestnuts, we offer not just deliciousness but a therapeutic experience. Whether it's the warming broths of winter, rich with ingredients to bolster your immunity against the cold, or the light, refreshing soups of summer, brimming with hydrating and detoxifying properties, each spoonful is a step towards equilibrium with the seasons.
